OUR TEAM
Our methodology behind the Ebtech team is to create a diverse and experienced pool of knowledge.
We all have our specialist fields, and each member of the team has an important role to play to provide our clients with the service that each and every one of them deserves.
We never actively look for a new team member to fill a specific role, but create a role to fit the right team member and are always on the lookout for young talent to ensure that we are training a new generation into what was historically being led by an older generation, and to ensure the country has the skill set to serve the requirements of the horticultural and agricultural industries.
Matt Blood
Managing Director
Matt has been in the horticultural heating industry for over 30 years, starting as a draughtsman at Wilco Industries in 1990, he has worked his way through the ranks and is the originator of Ebtech and its subsidiaries, and has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience along the way.
Matt is involved on many projects from initial enquiry, through design, project management and into commissioning.
Steve Ward
Operations Director
Steve is a degree qualified Building Services Design Engineer, registered with the Engineering Council UK with over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry working in both consultancy and contracting.
Whilst Steve is involved in the whole process of initial enquiry design, project management and commissioning, his specialist subject is the design and project management of heat pump installations and their integration into horticultural heating systems.
Jonathan Froggatt
Sales Director
Jonathan joined the company in 2012 and is a renewable energy specialist, with the uncanny ability to number crunch figures in his head and determine the initial viability of a renewable energy installation very quickly.
Not only a sales position, Jonathan will be involved in the development of a project from concept, feasibility, and specification to final design
Josh Chapman
Operations Manager
Josh will be seen managing projects and manging the on-site engineers and sub-contractors ensuring the whole fabrication and installation process runs smoothly.
As a qualified plumbing and heating engineer, he has a full understanding of what is being installed, and it is not unusual for him to be seen with spanners in his hands when the pressure is on.
Ferry Remmerswaal
Design Engineer
Ferry and Matt Blood have worked with each other for in excess of 25 years. Based in Holland, his primary role is the design and procurement of heating systems and has a wealth of design knowledge.
His location is a massive benefit to the company, with the ability to meet and discuss aspects of projects with the Dutch suppliers, whom we are often heavily involved with on many projects, from environmental controls, boiler manufacturers and transport systems.
Jayne Blood
Accounts Manager
Whilst Jayne looks after the financials of the business and the day to day office management, she is also Matt Blood’s wife, so is way more involved in the business than her job title probably suggests.
Likely to be the friendly voice that answers the phone.
Jimmy Evans
Project Manager
Jimmy has a wealth of knowledge in project management and his primary role is to look after the large scale, long term Ebtech projects.
Not only managing these projects, but also liaising with the client throughout to ensure schemes run smoothly and always to the customers satisfaction.
Mat Thomas
Project Manager
Mat’s primary role within the company is Construction Director of Ebtech Construction, but as many projects overlap between the companies, he is often seen getting involved with the project management on the larger installations on behalf of “Energy”, as well as taking care of the health and safety requirements across all the Ebtech companies.
You will find more about Mat’s background and experience on the Ebtech Construction web site.
Trevor Jackson
Design Engineer
Trevor is well-known within the horticultural heating industry. As Matt Blood’s boss many years ago, Trevor has now joined the Ebtech team and is our semi-retired, horticultural heating guru, with many, many years of experience under his belt.
Trevor’s role is to develop the design of the true “horticultural heating” projects as well as design investigation of systems with underlying issues
Kye Barker
Design Office Manager
Taking the designs, sketches and concepts of the “design engineers” and turning them into working drawings for manufacture and installation as well as 3D concepts for visualisation of schemes during project development.
His role involves not only involves the ability to have to mind read what is going on in the design engineer's head, but to also then decipher this language and make it work on paper.
Also managing the pre-fabrication workshop to ensure that what is produced is manufactured as per the design and to ensure that it will fit when the kit arrives on site.
Dillon Dervey
Apprentice Engineer
Apprentice design engineer, with his primary role acting as Kye’s right hand man, bringing concepts to life on the CAD.
Tom Marsh
Lead Site Engineer
Tom heads up the on-site installation team and is an experienced pipework welder / fabricator, ensuring that the on-paper designs are brought to life on site to his exacting standards.
The bigger the pipe, the bigger the challenge. His motto is “leave it with me”, which we know literally means however complicated the pipe run, it will be installed as we want it to be.
Josh Gray
Site Engineering Team
Supporting both Tom and Sam on site, ensuring that pipework is prepared for welding in front of them.
Currently taking welding qualifications part time, he can be seen doing some basic installations on site, and hopefully will be undertaking his own installations in the not too distant future.
Tony Mangan
Stores, Logistics and Yard Operative
Tony is the ever happy face that welcomes the grumpy delivery drivers into the works, makes sure that the workshop have materials they need ready and waiting, makes sure that the pre-fabricated components are ready to be dispatched and all the other jobs needs to keep the stores, logistics and workshop rolling efficiently on a daily basis.
