Ebtech Glasshouse Systems are proud to have completed, in conjunction with our Dutch partners, Holland Scherming & Ludvig Svensson, an energy screening installation at the Chichester site of the strawberry producer, The Summer Berry company.

The project consisted of replacing cloth, motors and all the associated parts of a screening system.

The project covered nine growing areas, totalling 38,534.40m²

Working within crop rotation periods and the growing gutters was not easy, but with our specially designed framework system that ran on the heating pipes, it enabled the installation crew to span further across a bay, each bay being 9.60m wide.

We replaced the existing screen motors for Ridder units, type RW1200

The screen was an energy saving light pollution cloth from the Ludvig Svensson range.

The project certainly wasn’t the easiest to execute, however, the end result was achieved, and the grower has a successful new screen system in place.
