Installing screens at a North Yorkshire Glasshouse
Ebtech Glasshouse Systems have just completed the installation of a mixture of screens at a site in North Yorkshire.
The main area of the glasshouse, measuring 5,657.60m² was a traditional 19mm leading edge wire driven screen system using the Ludvig Svensson cloth type., harmony 7247 FR, a 47% energy saving, fire retardant cloth, this is a white screen with a closed weave.
In addition to this we supplied and installed a double ply blackout/ thermal cloth in a second area measuring 1,330.40m² using Ridder RLR 99 FR W, (50% energy saving), as the top ply and RES 10+ FR, (47% energy saving), as the second ply to ensure the clients brief of blackout and high energy requirements were met for his germination section of the glasshouse.
For the 3rd & 4th areas of the glasshouse, which are to be used as work areas covering a combined size of 1,228.80m² we supplied and installed non-moving Ludvig Svensson, cloth type Harmony 7247 FR as per the main area.
As part of the 5th screen system, we installed a blackout screen in one gable end wall, measuring 80m wide x two drop sections of 1.41m in the Ludvig Svensson cloth type Obscura 10070 R FR W providing around a 70% energy saving and 99.9% blackout, then four sections along we had to hang a second blackout screen of the same width which had to be cut around every high-level heating pipes, (4 per bay).
The whole installation ran without issue and was completed in full within two weeks to the complete satisfaction of the client.
